Grant Reed – Managing Director

Grant Reed is the Managing Director of GR Consulting Pty. Ltd. and has over thirty years of experience in both the building and aged care industries since graduating as a professional civil engineer. He has extensive experience in project management and strategic planning and a reputation for delivering quality outcomes to a broad range of clientele in both the public and private sectors.

Grant has provided project management services on many major projects, incorporating architectural, building surveying, quantity surveying, building engineering and multi-disciplined teams. He has been directly responsible for the design, documentation and construction supervision of new buildings, building upgrade works, water and wastewater treatment plants, hydraulic structures, pumping stations, earthen storages, tanks, water and sewer reticulation using open cut, tunnel and directional bore methods.

As the Project Manager responsible for the Federal Government’s Aged Care Facilities Certification Assessment program whilst working for Fisher Stewart Pty Ltd, Grant was responsible for the co‐ordination of some forty staff located regionally throughout Australia. This project was of national significance and required the assessment of over 3,000 aged care facilities throughout Australia in a very short time frame.

Grant was also intimately involved in the late 1990’s in advising the Commonwealth Department of Health and Aged Care (DoHA) on a review of the Certification Instrument and Guidelines and is familiar with likely future developments and the impact that changes to the certification process will have on future investment in Aged Care facilities.

Grant has extensive experience in both the preparation and facilitation of strategic and capital works planning for any organisations and significant expertise in asset management associated with building infrastructure.

Marilyn Reed – Principal and Real Estate Sales Executive

Marilyn Reed is a Principal of GR Consulting (Aust) and has over twenty-five years of experience working in health and community care, aged care and the real estate industry since graduating with a Diploma of Applied Science and obtaining a post-graduate Diploma in Health Education. She has extensive experience in training, education, facilitation and management, with excellent communication skills and a reputation for resourcefulness, intuitive thinking and achieving positive and successful outcomes for her valued clients.

Marilyn commenced her professional career in the health and fitness industry where she worked for five years in supervisory positions responsible for hiring, training and on-going monitoring of services and sales staff, opening new weight loss centres and reviewing the performance of centre operations in Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania and Queensland for a major international weight loss company.

Following her move from the health and fitness sector, Marilyn was employed by the Victorian Health Department for ten years, where she performed many important roles including, Drug and Alcohol Educator and Policy Advisor, assistance in the development of modules and implementation of the Drink Driver Education Program (DDP) and development and implementation of key strategies in mental health policy. She was also intimately involved in setting up and implementing key performance indicators for health services agreements with external providers, undertaking budget reviews and negotiating with key service agencies in both the not-for-profit and private sectors.

Since 2006, Marilyn has been working in the Victorian real estate industry as a Senior Sales Executive dealing with both vendors and buyers. She has a reputation for providing a quality personalised service and for achieving successful outcomes for a broad range of commercial and private vendors.
