Building design reviews are generally undertaken in two distinct stages as follows:

Stage 1: Review and report at conceptual design stage.
Stage 2: Review of detailed design plans and specifications.

Details of the works associated with each stage of the design review are summarised below.

Stage 1: Conceptual Design

  • Review of conceptual design plans prepared by architect in relation to the requirements of certification in particular Section 1 (part only), 3 and 4 of the new Certification Assessment Instrument.
  • Preparation of report detail and results of the preliminary certification review, including recommendations for the amendment to the conceptual design (if applicable) to address issues of non‐compliance with current certification requirements.

Stage 2: Detailed Design and Documentation

  • Review of plans and specifications prepared by architect and associated sub consultants.
  • Completion of a desktop certification assessment using the 1999 Certification Assessment Instrument.
  • Preparation of report detail and results with the certification review, including a section‐by‐section analysis of the certification assessment results and recommendations for amendment to the design (if applicable), to maximise the certification score and meet the requirements for Year 2003 and 2008.
